Client Testimonials

Below are just a few testimonials from ongoing clients.

PBTI is the manufacturing arm of the Xinia range of toner products for both the domestic and international markets. Jeremy Thompson, Operations Director comments: "When the EU opened up, Somerset had the lowest unemployment rate in the EU and we struggled to find labour in the local market. Skills Provision Ltd introduced us to the Polish route over two years ago and this has enabled us to react positively to business opportunities as they arise. Chris Slay's industrial background has really helped as he has a better understanding of our business needs than a typical recruitment agent"

I could do with another chef/cook with maybe a wife who could clean and wait on tables preferably with a little knowledge of English. I’m very happy with Peter and Magic both with their work and attitude, they are both very nice boys and I hope they stay with me for a long time. So if you come across anyone similar please let me know.
Enjoy your time in Poland and I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you, Maggie

When WF Cleaning found itself unable to recruit staff for a contract it had gained near Bath, managing director Mike Walker was put in touch with specialist recruitment agency Skills Provision to solve his problem.

In 2002 WF Cleaning, Cumbria’s leading contract cleaning company commissioned Skills Provision to provide staff for contracts across the country.

Mike explained: Someone I knew suggested I should contact Chris Slay of Skills Provision as he specialises in providing Eastern European workers. I was told Chris would be able to supply staff to fulfil a vast array of contracts, this proved to be the case. I’ve subsequently used Skills Provision over the years.

Although Chris is based in Somerset, he has provided staff to work on various sites throughout the UK. I have always found the workers, primarily Polish, to be very hard working, dependable and happy to work evening shifts even weekends if necessary. They always turn up and are very adaptable. For one job in Scotland, we needed two people for which we were unable to recruit British workers as the shifts were antisocial hours. The problem with some British workers is that if there is a Saturday night shift, they don’t want to do it whereas Polish staff just get on with it. My business also needs a mix of contract and permanent staff in order to run efficiently, especially on some of its nationwide projects.

One of the benefits of contract workers he said is that they don’t need to be paid off if the work dries up and staff who have the required qualifications who are most suited to a particular job can be employed - criteria is given to Skills Provision which sources the most suitable candidates. When we win a contract we give Chris a call with the sort of person we’re needing – for example, it could be someone with a fork lift license. He sources the right people – they then know the type of job they’re coming to.

We do have to give workers some training but generally when they turn up they know what to expect and are able to do the work. One area in which the business was expanding was in managed labour contracts where functions such as in house catering, cleaning and waste management are outsourced and WF Cleaning directly manages the workforce. Here we work hand in glove with Chris as the provision of dependable and efficient staff is key to our own success. I am full of praise for Chris Slay he is dependable, always available to sort out any potential problems. WF Cleaning will continue to use staff provided by Skills Provision.

WF Cleaning

WF Cleaning operates nationally supplying waste management and cleaning services to a range of local, national and international businesses and has used Skills Provision Ltd's services for 3 years and just over a year ago awarded them with a 2 year rolling contract to supply all their overseas labour requirements.
Mike Walker, Managing Director commented “We’ve been impressed by Skills Provision Ltd’s ability to find good quality workers at short notice although we know that there are market challenges ahead.
Chris’ advice on likely labour cost movements are vital as we often have to price on a fixed cost basis for 2/3 years. To date he’s been spot on. I now use Skills Provision Ltd newsletters as a negotiating tool when speaking to clients”

Recycoal is a specialist in waste coal recovery and as part of our international development had identified the need for a bi lingual Polish Engineer to work out of our Corporate Headquarters in Doncaster. After making an initial internet enquiry we were contacted very promptly and professionally by Skills Provision and between us developed a job description to cover our requirements. The process was fully explained by Skills Provision including the likely timescale to find a suitable candidate, which met with our requirements, and we instructed Skills Provision to proceed.

At all stages they kept me fully informed of progress, even when I was travelling in Australia and America.

We received high quality information on the selected candidate and an informal over the phone discussion took place with him following a visit to the UK and he joined us in March 2011 and has fitted in very well.

Recycoal will certainly use the services of Skills Provision again and I’d like to thank Chris Slay and his extended team for their help in securing a key individual for Recycoal.

After 15 years service in HM forces I started the daunting process of job hunting. I uploaded my CV on to the usual recruitment websites, receiving a multitude emails inundating me on how to improve my job hunting skills and several job matches but nothing that led to an interview.

Chris Slay from Skills Provision is a family friend. On receiving my CV Chris knew that with my background and expertise gained from the military I would be of benefit to specific companies. Without delay Chris sent my CV to an organisation he knew were expanding rapidly. I received immediate contact from this company, arranging an interview and ultimately went on to receive a job offer.

Skills Provision are not a traditional recruitment agency, they take pride in offering a personal service, giving sound advice and most of all keeping you informed at all times.

I would like to thank Skills Provision for all the assistance they gave me and would recommend their services to any employer or anyone searching for a job.

Dear Ms. Hornbogen, It was truly my pleasure. I sincerely appreciate all the work you did for me. I completely understand everything, as you have made it quite clear, and seriously thank you. I am in contact with Mr. Fuad, and Mr. Muneir. That is very nice of them to pay for the ticket. Have a great rest of the semester. Everything is going smoothly with the visa services. Take care.
