Care Industry - An update

After a busy January , the UK market place has been quiet as far as we are concerned before a flurry of  recent enquiries and we thought it might be helpful to present an up date on the market place.

We can offer staff on two basis:

Managed Workforce: Where we enter a contract with you for 2 years to locate, recruit, employ and provide staff to you on an outsourced basis with a flat hourly rate + VAT and we take care of everything else. We will quote a rate within 24 hours of receipt of full information from you. No direct fees are charged

Recruitment Fee: A simple recruitment structure for a flat fee + VAT. We will quote a rate within 24 hours of receipt of full information from you.

Domestic support: Currently low demand for outsourced staff. owing to the state of the economy, cleaners, cooks, laundry staff and gardeners and maintenance personnel can usually be sourced locally.

Care staff: Continuing demand but at lower levels as clients are finding the increased wage expectations difficult to accommodate. Area of largest demand is in rural or remote areas with difficult communications. Live in accommodation is essential in such locations. Wage guide £6.50 an hour

Senior Carers: Definition is everything here and varies widely from carers with experience to specialist care roles. A detailed job description is essential. Positions can be filled but it might take a bit longer. Wage guide £8-£9 an hour

Domicilliatory Care: Each company uses a different definition and applies different rules and criteria. Is it Live in? Is it akin to a health visitor? Is a driving licence essential? Who pays for what? Is the hourly rate inclusive of holiday pay? What about travelling time? Is the person employed/self employed?  Eastern Europeans often don't have driving licences and certainly don't have the capital to invest in a vehicle. Please understand that we require full information and the wide wage range quoted is explained by the variable. Wage guide £8-£11 an hour

Nurses: Qualified nurses in the EU country of origin but without a UK pin number to be used as a senior carer on a split contract until pin is received. Rate £9 rising to £12 on qualification.

RGN's: International competition means these are in short supply. Eastern European nurses do not like remote rural locations where most demand arises. Recruiting in this sector is hit and miss. Wage guideline is £13 an hour minimum
