Flexible working has great benefits for firms
Companies are likely to find that flexible working patterns are beneficial to both themselves and their employees, one expert has said.
Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, said that flexible working, such as temporary, contract and interim work is also a solution to the problem of unemployment.
"It gives employers the chance to react quickly to new opportunities in a challenging market as well as providing a vital outlet at a time when employers are naturally cautious about taking new staff on permanently," he stated.
Mr Hadley added that the nature of flexible and temporary work is also evolving, as employers see the benefit of hiring workers for highly-skilled roles.
His comments come after the REC's JobsOutlook survey revealed that one in four employers are planning on increasing their temporary workforce in the coming year with staff such as skilled foreign workers.
