Recruiters 'confident about rise in UK jobs'
UK employers are showing increasing confidence that more jobs will be available in the country in the coming months.
According to a new survey conducted by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), 94 per cent of recruiters expect to maintain or increase their workforce in the coming months, with firms in the agriculture and hospitality sectors showing particular optimism.
Commenting on the survey findings, Roger Tweedy, the REC's director of research, said that increasing confidence is welcome news but many roles may not be in a full-time or permanent capacity.
"Businesses are naturally cautious about the economic recovery which is why the provision of temporary and contract work will continue to provide a useful outlet," he said.
The report comes as John Philpott, chief economic adviser at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, said that permanent work places are still very hard to come by in the UK jobs market.
