Skills?
Australia needs skilled workers, so they are looking for qualifications.
Don’t forget though, if you are an experienced trades person but don’t have any “formal” qualifications your experience will serve you well in getting those relevant paper qualifications more easily. Most trades have relevant NVQs which you achieve by proving you have the skills (just by doing your job as you do everyday) – without having written exams.

(2) Evidence of your nationality
Your passport, of course.
(3) Evidence that you can speak English competently
If you already have qualifications from the UK, then that’s probably enough. Even if you’re not sure you can obtain the relevant evidence by obtaining certificates.

2 of these must be work related.
All the references should be less than 3 years old so don’t forget to update them first if you need to.
(5) Optional extras
If you’ve had a medical in the last year, please feel free to include that.
You can also to send a covering email (500 words or less please) telling us more about yourself and what you are like.
STEP 2 – SEND THEM BY EMAIL TO US at auzteam@skillsprovision.co.uk

But will I get a visa?
Most UK residents will need one of the available visas to be issued before they can work in Australia. At the moment there are several types of visa from the “working holiday visas” for the under 30’s (it’s not a permanent one and we like to think of it as a try before you buy!) to the Worker’s visa (your employer helps get this once you’re offered a job).
Of course there is paperwork involved but the good news is that if you followed the “2 easy steps to getting started working in Australia with Skills Provision” and provided all the necessary paperwork, then our experienced consultants and partners can help you choose and apply for the correct visa.
We love Australia, and here’s some advice that we gave the Australian government (albeit the 19th century one) recently.
Now, instead of dreaming about what it would be like to move to and work in Australia, why not let us help you make it a reality.
As they say in Australia, “job done mate”.
