The one thing we need from all Polish employers is a detailed job description, these can be compiled easily from our sister website Job Description We have a flexible approach to business therefore if you have a job description, please email it through to us so we can review it and call you to seek clarification on any issues.
During the initial conversation we will discuss matters such as:-
- The rate we would intend to charge and what it covered.
- The rate we would pay the employee and the appropriateness of a performance related bonus.
- Answer any queries on our terms and conditions that can be downloaded here
- Discuss the preparations for success within the client company.
- Establish how the people would be managed by the client.
- The role if any that Skills would have in monitoring/mentoring employees such as documenting Key Performance Indicators.
- This would be documented, usually by email and would become the basis of the contract between us and would require confirmation from you. In certain regulated areas written confirmation is required.
Once a job description is agreed the following standards apply:-
- We will run your requirements against our VIP list. This is a list of candidates that have been through our approval process as described below.
- If this does not supply a match we will, with our business partners in selected countries, seek to recruit the required skills.
THE PROCESS
- This starts with a fully documented CV that the candidate can generate here and whenever practical it includes a photograph.
- An initial telephone interview takes place to gauge suitability and to establish the person’s intentions and general aptitude for work abroad.
- It is explained that a criminal check (CRB) is often required and if appropriate the candidate is urged to apply at their own cost as it shows commitment.
- Two references are required, which depending on relevant laws; investigate reliability, trustworthiness, absenteeism and social issues.
- The job description is provided to the candidate together with on line access to standard documentation and if they indicate that they would like the job they are then asked to a face-to-face interview in the country of origin.
- Depending on the level of English required by a client the interview will be conducted in the local language or English.
- All trade qualifications will be gathered and translated into English.
- A medical declaration form will be completed.
Additional processes if a good standard of English is required:-
The candidate will be interviewed by telephone to confirm language competence.
Optional processes available:-
- Tests in comprehension and written English can be set.
- If it is a large contract bench testing can be arranged but this is chargeable to the client.
- If the role is highly technical the client can interview the candidate by telephone.
It is only when written confirmation is received from the client that the contract of employment is offered.
Notice periods vary but candidates are encouraged to act responsibly and the interval between contract offer and arrival is 2-4 weeks but can be 3 months. For jobs over £30,000 please contact us reference our Headhunting service.
We customarily employ the candidate and subcontract them to clients on a long term basis
As part of the service we take care of the following:
- Ensure the individual is entitled to work in the UK.
- Establish a bank account.
- Deal with any government registration requirements.
- Assist in getting National Insurance numbers by setting up appointments.
- Encourage registration with a Doctor.
- Comply with legal requirements that are in force.
- Assist with accommodation if required.
- Assist with transport if required.
- “Pastoral” support is available if required.
- Agree a review process to suit the individual client.
REVIEW PROCESS
Our screening process is rigorous and aims to weed out unsuitable candidates but no system is 100%. We look to detect any bad apples quickly and have a no quibble guarantee replacement policy governed by the review process. This is exception based to cause minimum client interruption so we will assume everything is OK unless you tell us otherwise.
Typical process pattern:-
- It takes about 2 weeks for candidates to bed in and the key here is effective communication of expectations and on the job training which is in the client’s hands.
- At the end of two weeks the client is invited to pass comment on the candidate – no comment represents no action required. If there are issues we or the introducing agent will communicate with the candidate the areas of difficulty and explain that their performance is now under scrutiny and the expectations that the client has.
- At the end of 4 weeks it is generally possible to tell whether an individual will succeed and an agreement is reached with the client as to the way forward.
