Previous Employment Details:

I have worked as a casual Trainee Medical Scientist at PathCare, Cape Town in the molecular reference laboratory between December 2020-December 2022. The responsibilities involved SARS-COV-2 (Covid-19) testing using reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR), of which I performed predominantly on nightshift. During this time I worked in a BSL2 Molecular Laboratory at PathCare, performing Covid-19 diagnostic testing on predominantly nasopharyngeal swaps using the Abbott m2000 real-time system and the Bosphore Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov) PCR Detection Kit. Thereafter, results were analysed, reported and communicated with the appropriate individual.
